The Marketplace Code of Conduct

The Credit Hero Marketplace Code of Conduct We want you to succeed, but we also want you to stay safe. By joining this marketplace, you agree to run your business honestly and ethically. Here are the 14 rules of the road:

  1. Follow the Law
You agree to follow all federal and state laws, including the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA), the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR), and laws in your client’s specific state.
  2. Market Honestly
Follow the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines for all your sales and marketing. Be truthful and don't mislead people.
  3. Give Clients a "Right to Cancel"
Your contracts must follow the law and include a "Right to Cancel." This is usually 3 days, but check your client's state laws—some require 5 or even 7 days.
  4. No "Secret Relationships"
Be honest about your relationship with the credit bureaus. You do not have an exclusive partnership with them, so don't claim you do.
  5. Respect the Bureaus
Speak truthfully about Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Do not make up lies about them or bash them in your marketing.
  6. Tell the Truth About "DIY"
You must inform every client that they have the legal right to repair their own credit for free. They are hiring you for help, not because they have to.
  7. Let Clients Pull Their Own Reports
Do not sign up for credit monitoring on behalf of your client. Guide them to sign up for it themselves so they recognize the charge.
Important: If your clients file excessive chargebacks for monitoring fees, you will be removed from the marketplace to protect the platform.
  8. Check if it’s the "Right Fit"
Look at each client’s situation individually to make sure your services are actually appropriate for them before you start.
  9. No Guarantees
Promise to work hard for your client, but never promise a specific result or credit score. That is illegal.
  10. Dispute Responsibly
Only send dispute letters for items that are inaccurate, unsubstantiated, or unfairly reported.
  11. Deliver Services Before Billing
Never charge fees before work is done. You must always deliver services prior to billing the consumer.
  12. Protect Client Data
You are trusted with sensitive personal info. Keep it secure and never share it with anyone who shouldn't have it.
  13. No Government Complaints
Do not file complaints with government agencies (like the CFPB, FTC, or Attorney General) as a dispute tactic. This "shortcut" puts a target on your back. Regulators track the digital source of these complaints, and they will lead law enforcement—and legal consequences—straight to your door.
  14. No Fraudulent Sweeps (Identity Theft & Trafficking)
Do not file false affidavits claiming identity theft or human trafficking. This is federal fraud, not a loophole. Government systems automatically flag and track the source of these fake claims. This behavior doesn't just get you banned—it leads to criminal investigations and prosecution.
